Below are the most frequently asked questions by Yiwu business owners and foreign clients, grouped by topic. If you cannot find the answer, it is faster to call us directly.
Company Registration
What materials are required for registering a company in Yiwu?
Identity documents of all shareholders, company name (it is recommended to prepare 3-5), registration address materials, information of the legal representative, and business scope. For foreign-invested/foreign shareholders, additional passport and notarized authentication documents are required. Our company registration page has a complete checklist (view).
How long does it take to register a company?
If all materials are complete and the address is confirmed, the process from name approval to obtaining the business license usually takes several working days. The processes of seal engraving, bank account opening, and tax registration will proceed according to the queue situation at each stage. The specific time depends on the local processing progress.
How much does it cost to register a company?
The cost depends on the type of company, whether a registered address is needed, and whether it involves foreign investment or pre-approval. We will first list the "included/not included" items before providing a quote, and there will be no additional charges during the process.
Is a larger registered capital better?
No. Currently, it is a subscription system, but the subscribed amount corresponds to the liability of the shareholders. It is more prudent to set it according to actual operational needs.
Can a foreign-invested company (with foreign shareholders) be registered?
Yes. Additional preparation of passports and notarized authentication documents is required, and some industries have restrictions on foreign investment. We recommend planning the company registration along with visa/work permit applications.
Bookkeeping and Tax Filing
What services are included in bookkeeping?
Monthly accounting, financial statements, periodic tax filing, and voucher archiving; annual tax reconciliation and annual business report are also handled. Additional work such as invoicing and tax refunds will be specified separately.
When should bookkeeping start?
After obtaining the business license and completing the tax registration, you should establish accounts and file taxes on a regular basis. Even if there is no income, zero declaration is required, otherwise, overdue records will be generated.
Can zero declarations be made indefinitely?
No. Even without business, declarations must still be made, but long-term zero declarations will be closely monitored. If there is actual operation but no invoices issued, the books should be kept according to the actual situation.
What happens if a declaration is missed?
Fines and late fees may be incurred, and the tax credit rating may be affected; a downgrade in credit rating can affect invoice issuance and loans. If a missed declaration is discovered, please make up the declaration as soon as possible.
Is it troublesome to switch bookkeeping companies?
It is not troublesome, the key is whether the old accounts are standardized. We will first review the old accounts and confirm the completeness of the data before taking over, ensuring that the declaration nodes are not interrupted.
How do you charge for your services?
Pricing is based on the type of enterprise (small-scale/general taxpayer) and the monthly volume of invoices; export tax rebates and multi-entity situations are calculated separately.
Invoices and Export Rebates
Can you handle export rebates?
Yes. We are responsible for organizing the rebate documentation and submitting it. Whether the rebate is approved depends on the completeness of the documents and their compliance with policy requirements. We will first conduct a compliance check.
What if there are insufficient input invoices?
We first look at the nature of the business: market procurement trade (1039), cross-border e-commerce without invoices, etc., each has its own applicable conditions. We will first determine the suitability and not force-fit policies.
Can I avoid issuing an invoice if the customer requests one?
We do not recommend it. Income without an invoice is still taxable income; the risk of not declaring such income is much greater than the tax burden. Issuing an invoice for every transaction is the general direction.
Visa Agency (for Foreigners)
What is the process for a foreigner to obtain a work visa in Yiwu?
The general procedure is "work permit first, then work visa, followed by residence permit." You need to provide proof of education/work experience, a criminal record clearance (which needs to be authenticated), a health examination, and an employment contract. For more details, see the Visa Agency page.
How long does it take to process?
The processing time varies depending on the type of visa and the handling pace of the entry-exit window. Generally, it takes about a month after all materials are complete, but the exact time is determined by the issuing authority. It is recommended to start the process 1-2 months in advance.
Can I initiate the process while I am abroad?
Most of the documents can be pre-reviewed online. For steps that require your physical presence (such as changing the residence permit, health examination, and fingerprinting), we will inform you in advance.
Do you provide services in English/Arabic?
Yes. We can directly communicate in Chinese, English, and Arabic. Our official website also has English and Arabic versions.
